Short Film - '30 Seconds'

'30 Seconds' is a short film which is currently in the post production phase. My role for the film was production designer and creating the look and feel that the director was aiming for. The set for the film was a pre-furnished house and so my job was to make the house appear more lived in and suit the needs of the script and characters; this involved creating props and furniture that 'ages' as the film takes place over 17 years. One of the pieces of furniture I made was a reversible table top which was freshly painted (new) on one side and cracked and chipped (old) on the other, I also got a reversible rug that appears old/ new depending on which way round it is placed. I sourced all of the props including the vital pocketwatch which had several requirements that had to be met in order to fit the needs of the script - must be silver and have a 'secret' back compartment, etc. As production designer, I also designed the films logo which was used on all of the promotional material for the film.
